Baked And Fried Vermicelli Cheese Fritters
Ingredients
- 6 ounces cooked vermicelli
- 1.5 ounces bread crumbs
- 2 ounces grated cheese
- 1 egg
- 0.5 teaspoon curry powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon pepper
- 1 ounce butter for frying
Method
- 1 Mix vermicelli, bread crumbs, cheese, egg yolk, curry powder, salt, and pepper thoroughly.
- 2 Beat the egg white to stiff peaks and gently fold it into the mixture.
- 3 Press the mixture into a greased pie dish and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until set.
- 4 Allow the baked block to cool completely.
- 5 Cut into squares or stamp out shapes, then fry in butter until brown.
- 6 Serve hot or cold.
