Ingredients

  • 6 ounces cooked vermicelli
  • 1.5 ounces bread crumbs
  • 2 ounces grated cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 teaspoon curry powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 ounce butter for frying

Method

  1. 1 Mix vermicelli, bread crumbs, cheese, egg yolk, curry powder, salt, and pepper thoroughly.
  2. 2 Beat the egg white to stiff peaks and gently fold it into the mixture.
  3. 3 Press the mixture into a greased pie dish and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until set.
  4. 4 Allow the baked block to cool completely.
  5. 5 Cut into squares or stamp out shapes, then fry in butter until brown.
  6. 6 Serve hot or cold.
