Bacon Gravy With Toasted Bacon
Ingredients
- bacon, sliced thin
- flour (for gravy)
- 1 cup sweet new milk
- pinch of black pepper
Method
- 1 Slice bacon as thin as possible.
- 2 For broiling: Place slices in a shallow tin and toast in a hot oven until dry and curled.
- 3 For frying: Cook slices in a hot skillet, turning twice, until slightly browned.
- 4 To make gravy: Thicken the rendered lard with flour, then stir in milk and pepper.
