Arrowroot Custard With Egg Yolks

Ingredients

  • 1 pint milk
  • 1 tablespoon arrowroot
  • 2 oz granulated sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • Vanilla extract or other flavoring

Method

  1. 1 Boil the milk with the sugar in a saucepan.
  2. 2 Mix the arrowroot smoothly with a little cold milk, then pour it into the boiling milk while stirring.
  3. 3 Stir constantly until the mixture boils and thickens.
  4. 4 Remove from heat, beat in the egg yolks and flavoring, and stir until thickened.
