Arrowroot Custard With Egg Yolks
Ingredients
- 1 pint milk
- 1 tablespoon arrowroot
- 2 oz granulated sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- Vanilla extract or other flavoring
Method
- 1 Boil the milk with the sugar in a saucepan.
- 2 Mix the arrowroot smoothly with a little cold milk, then pour it into the boiling milk while stirring.
- 3 Stir constantly until the mixture boils and thickens.
- 4 Remove from heat, beat in the egg yolks and flavoring, and stir until thickened.
