Apple Or Peach Crumble
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 egg
- butter for greasing dish
- apples or peaches
- cinnamon
- lumps of butter
Method
- 1 Butter a baking dish and layer with sliced apples or peaches.
- 2 Sprinkle fruit with sugar and cinnamon, then dot with butter lumps.
- 3 Sift together sugar, baking powder, flour, and salt in a bowl.
- 4 Break in an egg and mix until the mixture is crumbly.
- 5 Spread the crumbly topping over the fruit.
- 6 Bake in a 350°F oven until the crust is brown.
- 7 Serve warm with milk, whipped cream, or ice cream.
