Apple Oat Crisp

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup white whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup canola oil (or unsalted butter, melted)
  • 6 cups apples (peeled and diced)
  • 1 tablespoon white whole wheat flour
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar

Method

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. 2 Toss 3/4 cup flour, oats, 3 tbsp white sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  3. 3 Add oil or melted butter to the topping mixture and toss until combined.
  4. 4 Place diced apples in the dish with 1 tbsp flour and 3 tbsp sugar; mix well.
  5. 5 Spread topping over fruit. Bake until fruit is tender and topping is golden, about 45 minutes.
  6. 6 Serve warm or refrigerate for up to 2 days.
