Apple Cabbage And Nut Salad
Ingredients
- apples, peeled and diced
- juice of 1-2 lemons
- nuts, chopped
- 1 pint chopped cabbage or celery
- lettuce leaves
- French dressing
- sweet peppers, cut into strips (optional)
Method
- 1 Peel and dice apples. Squeeze lemon juice over them to prevent discoloration and set aside.
- 2 Chop the nuts and prepare the chopped cabbage or celery.
- 3 Line a salad bowl with a layer of chopped celery or cabbage, lettuce leaves, then alternate layers of apples and nuts.
- 4 Baste with French dressing. Garnish with sweet pepper strips if desired and serve immediately.
