Anchovy Meat Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp anchovy sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp finely minced cooked meat (fowl preferred)
  • Dash of red pepper
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Dash of nutmeg
  • Slices of toast

Method

  1. 1 Beat the egg yolk well in a bowl.
  2. 2 Stir in Worcestershire sauce, anchovy sauce, butter, minced meat, red pepper, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until a smooth paste forms.
  3. 3 Spread the mixture evenly over slices of toast.
  4. 4 Place in a moderate oven (350°F) for a few minutes until hot and bubbly. Serve immediately.
