Anchovy Meat Toast
Ingredients
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp anchovy sauce
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp finely minced cooked meat (fowl preferred)
- Dash of red pepper
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Dash of nutmeg
- Slices of toast
Method
- 1 Beat the egg yolk well in a bowl.
- 2 Stir in Worcestershire sauce, anchovy sauce, butter, minced meat, red pepper, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until a smooth paste forms.
- 3 Spread the mixture evenly over slices of toast.
- 4 Place in a moderate oven (350°F) for a few minutes until hot and bubbly. Serve immediately.
