Almond-Topped Chocolate Macaroons
Ingredients
- 7 egg whites
- 3/4 lb sifted sugar
- 1/2 lb finely pounded almonds
- 2 oz grated Baker's chocolate
- Wafer paper
- 1/2 blanched almond per macaroon
Method
- 1 Stir egg whites, sugar, almonds, and chocolate into a paste.
- 2 Cut wafer paper into rounds.
- 3 Roll mixture pieces to fit the wafer rounds.
- 4 Press half a blanched almond onto each macaroon.
- 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F).
