Almond Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
- 6 egg yolks
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- Egg whites for brushing
- Granulated sugar for brushing
- Grated almonds for topping
Method
- 1 Place a small amount of flour in a deep dish.
- 2 Add some egg yolks, butter, and sugar to the flour.
- 3 Continue adding remaining flour, yolks, butter, and sugar in layers until all ingredients are incorporated.
- 4 Roll the dough thin on a floured surface.
- 5 Cut into desired shapes and place on well-floured baking pans.
- 6 Brush cookies with egg whites, then sprinkle with sugar and grated almonds.
- 7 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until set.
