Almond Noodle Tart With Candied Fruit
Ingredients
- 4 oz sweet almonds
- a few bitter almonds
- 6 oz granulated sugar
- 2.5 oz candied fruits or angelica
- 2 oz butter
- lemon peel
- 2 eggs
- flour
Method
- 1 Mix two eggs with flour to form a paste.
- 2 Flatten the paste into a thin sheet on a board and cut into thin noodles.
- 3 Combine almonds, sugar, chopped candied fruit, and grated lemon peel; crush into small pieces.
- 4 Layer noodles and the almond mixture in an ungreased pie dish, aiming for at least one inch thickness.
- 5 Brush the top evenly with melted butter.
