Almond Lemon Egg White Cake

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 4 tablespoons Crisco
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Milk

Method

  1. 1 Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar into a bowl.
  2. 2 Place egg whites in a measuring cup, add Crisco, and fill the rest with milk.
  3. 3 Add the wet mixture and extracts to the dry ingredients.
  4. 4 Beat vigorously for six minutes.
  5. 5 Pour into a greased and floured cake tin.
  6. 6 Bake in a 350°F oven for 45 minutes.
