  • 1/5 lb blanched almonds, chopped
  • 1/5 lb flour
  • 1/5 lb sugar
  • 1/5 lb butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Jam (currant, strawberry, or raspberry) for spreading

Method

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. 2 In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. 3 Add butter, chopped almonds, and eggs; beat with a spoon until mixed.
  4. 4 Form into a dough with your hands and roll out to 1-inch thickness.
  5. 5 Cut into shapes, reserving scraps for decorative strips.
