Almond Currant Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 4 eggs
- 3 cups Vienna flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup almonds, chopped
- 1 cup currants
- 3 oz candied peel
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 1 cup milk
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Beat butter until creamy.
- 2 Gradually mix in sugar. Beat eggs and milk together.
- 3 Stir egg mixture into butter. Add flour and mix.
- 4 Fold in almonds, currants, candied peel, and almond extract.
- 5 Pour into pan and bake for 1 hour until golden.
