Almond And Pine Nut Mantovana Tart
Ingredients
- 6 oz flour
- 6 oz sugar
- 5 oz butter
- 2 oz sweet almonds
- 2 oz pine nuts
- 1 whole egg
- 4 egg yolks
- Lemon peel, to taste
Method
- 1 Beat the whole egg, egg yolks, and sugar together well with a ladle.
- 2 Gradually stir in the flour, then add the butter melted in a double boiler.
- 3 Pour the mixture into a buttered and floured pie dish, ensuring it is no thicker than one inch.
- 4 Top with halved pine nuts and almonds cut into small pieces.
- 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until dry, then sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve cold.
