Consumer Health Data We Collect

Etch is a journal, so the following can include information about your physical or mental health:

• Journal entries you type or dictate (dictation is transcribed on your phone, and the audio never leaves it)
• Moods and tags that Etch's AI detects in your entries
• AI outputs generated from your entries: summaries, weekly reflections and highlights, daily prompts, your profile and advice
• The AI text, reason and note in any AI content report you send
• Your consent to this collection, with the policy version and the time you gave it

This data is linked to your account (your name, email address and user ID).

Purpose: Why We Collect and Use It

We collect and use consumer health data only to provide Etch to you: to store and sync your journal, to generate the AI features you use, to review AI content reports, and to keep the service secure and working. We do not use it for advertising, and it is not used to train AI models.

Sources

We collect consumer health data from two sources: directly from you (what you write or dictate, and reports you send), and generated by Etch's AI on servers operated by PPV Enterprises LLC, which derives moods, tags, summaries and other outputs from your entries.

Who Receives It

We share consumer health data only with processors that handle it for us under contract:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS), which hosts the Etch API and database in the United States
• Cloudflare, which carries the HTTPS traffic between the app, the Etch API and the PPV AI servers

The AI servers that read your entries are operated by PPV Enterprises LLC itself; no third-party AI company receives them. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics receive no entry text, moods, tags or AI output.

We do not sell consumer health data, and we do not share it with any other third party or affiliate unless the law requires it.

Your Rights and How to Use Them

• Access: see your data in the app, export a copy with Settings > Export Data, or email us for the data we hold and a list of the processors that received it.
• Delete: use Settings > Delete Account in Etch, or email us.
• Withdraw consent: you can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account in Settings > Delete Account or by emailing us, and Etch then stops collecting your consumer health data.
• Appeal: if we decline your request, reply to our decision to appeal it. We answer appeals within 45 days, and if we deny yours we tell you how to contact the Washington State Attorney General.

Send requests to hello@ppv.digital from the email address you sign in with. We respond within 45 days, and if we need up to 45 more days we tell you why. Requests are free, and we will not treat you differently for making one.
